Basketball Recap: Wilmington Christian Academy Takes Down Southside Christian in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Wilmington Christian Academy had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 65-16 victory over the Southside Christian Warriors. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Kaylie Naki was a one-woman wrecking crew for Wilmington Christian Academy as she dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards. What's more, Naki posted two blocks, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mallory Deutsch, who earned seven points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.

Wilmington Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win (which was Wilmington Christian Academy's 12th in a row) raised their record to 17-7. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.3 points over those games. As for Southside Christian, they dropped their record down to 1-21 with the loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
