Basketball Recap: Southern Raiders vs. Johnson-Brock Eagles

After flying high against Sterling last Monday, Southern came back down to earth. The Southern Raiders were dealt a 59-24 loss at the hands of the Johnson-Brock Eagles on Tuesday. The Raiders have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Johnson-Brock's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taryn Ottemann, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 14 points along with eight boards and four blocks. Ottemann is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Daley Pelican was another key player, putting up 14 points and three steals.

Southern's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Johnson-Brock, the win was the 18th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-1.

Southern will take on Pawnee City at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Johnson-Brock, they will face off against Diller-Odell at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Johnson-Brock is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.4 points per game this season.
