Volleyball Game Preview: Maryvale Panthers vs. Metro Tech Knights

The Maryvale Panthers will square off against the Metro Tech Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Maryvale is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Maryvale duked it out with South Mountain on Tuesday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Maryvale never let South Mountain on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Metro Tech unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of McClintock.

Metro Tech's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 16-4. As for Maryvale, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-7.

Maryvale couldn't quite get it done against Metro Tech when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
