Volleyball Recap: Midway Raiders vs. Lumberton Pirates
After flying high against Rosewood on Tuesday, Midway came back down to earth. The Raiders lost 3-0 to the Lumberton Pirates on Wednesday. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Raiders haven't been shut out since back in August.
Midway was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Lumberton work for it, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-18, 26-24.

Despite the loss, Midway still got an impressive performance from Ella Clark, who had seven digs and four aces. Clark has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last 42 times she's played.
Midway's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Lumberton, their record now sits at 13-4.
Midway and Lumberton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Raiders will challenge Goldsboro at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (139 vs. 429). Meanwhile, Lumberton (ranked 110th) will meet Terry Sanford (ranked 403rd) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
