Baseball Recap: Crosspoint Christian Extends Winning Streak to Five

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Crosspoint Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Dayton Bulldogs 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won five games in a row.

Flint Howard made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 17 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Those 17 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played dating back to last season.

Howard wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Cook, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Crosspoint Christian's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Dayton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season.

Crosspoint Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Dayton has already played their next contest (against Concordia Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
