Baseball Game Preview: Hilliard Bradley Jaguars vs. Grove City Greyhounds

The Hilliard Bradley Jaguars will venture away from home to take on the Grove City Greyhounds at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Hilliard Bradley is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Lincoln just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 3-2.

Hilliard Bradley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vince Navarro, who went 3-for-5 with one run. The Jaguars are 2-1 when Navarro posts three or more hits, but 10-12 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Grove City didn't have quite enough to beat Big Walnut on Thursday and fell 6-4. That's two games in a row now that the Greyhounds have lost by exactly two runs.

This is the second loss in a row for Grove City and nudges their season record down to 16-9. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only two runs. As for Hilliard Bradley, they now have a losing record of 12-13.

Hilliard Bradley came out on top in a nail-biter against Grove City in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Will the Jaguars repeat their success, or do the Greyhounds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
