Basketball Recap: Gracie Hughes' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lawrenceville over North Clay/Clay City

After flying high against Red Hill last Monday, Lawrenceville came back down to earth. The Lawrenceville Indians fell 53-44 to North Clay/Clay City on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with North Clay/Clay City: they've now lost four in a row.

Lawrenceville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Gracie Hughes, who went 5-for-11 en route to 16 points in addition to six boards and three blocks. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Addeline Sanders, who posted 17 points and six rebounds.

Lawrenceville's loss dropped their record down to 12-18. As for North Clay/Clay City, their win bumped their record up to 10-16.

Lawrenceville has already played their next contest, a 64-21 defeat against Fairfield on the 15th. North Clay/Clay City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
