The Pinecrest Prep Crocs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Somerset Academy South Homestead 74-38. Pinecrest Prep has struggled against the Hurricanes recently, as their game on Wednesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Pinecrest Prep saw an underclassman step up: Gabriel Guzman scored 19 points. That was a full 50% of Pinecrest Prep's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
It was another big night for Zachary Reynolds, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds for Somerset Academy South Homestead. Reynolds has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Joseph Colzie, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Pinecrest Prep dropped their record down to 4-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Somerset Academy South Homestead, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-7.
