Baseball Game Preview: Interlachen Rams vs. West Port Wolf Pack

The Interlachen Rams will head out on the road to face off against the West Port Wolf Pack at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. West Port took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Interlachen, who comes in off a win.

Interlachen took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Williston by a score of 4-1.

Meanwhile, West Port was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Union County. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wolf Pack have suffered since March 19, 2024.

Efren Soto was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI. Another player making a difference was Ricardo Soto, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Interlachen's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for West Port, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-20.

Interlachen took their win against West Port when the teams last played back in February by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
