Basketball Game Preview: Linville Hill Warriors vs. Veritas Academy Monarch

Linville Hill has gone 7-0 against Veritas Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Linville Hill Warriors will welcome the Veritas Academy Monarch at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Linville Hill has ten straight victories, Veritas Academy has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Linville Hill will head into Tuesday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 26-point drubbing they dealt Lancaster County Christian on Tuesday. Linville Hill blew past Lancaster County Christian 79-53. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 26 points or more this season.

Linville Hill got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Derian Peterseim out in front who posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Drew Tibbins, who scored 13 points.

Meanwhile, Veritas Academy opened the new year with a less-than-successful 51-41 loss to Greenwood.

Linville Hill's victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.1 points per game. As for Veritas Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
