Softball Recap: Wood-Ridge Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

Wood-Ridge won the last time they faced Lodi and things went their way on Monday too. The Blue Devils walked away with a 13-9 victory over the Rams. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

Brielle Rivera was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Brooke Stellato was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Wood-Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Wood-Ridge's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-7. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lodi, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wood-Ridge will take on New Milford at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lodi, they will square off against Eastern Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
