Basketball Recap: Holgate Takes a Loss

Holgate lost against Patrick Henry back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Holgate Tigers were dealt a 54-20 loss at the hands of the Patrick Henry Patriots. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-5.

Leading Patrick Henry to victory were Carys Crossland and Ada Christman. Crossland went 7-for-11 to rack up 16 points and five steals, while Christman went 6-for-7 on her way to 14 points in addition to five boards and three blocks. Christman has been hot, having posted two or more blocks the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kynli Crossland, who posted six points and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Holgate and nudges their season record down to 5-17. As for Patrick Henry, the win (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 21-1.

Holgate wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 47-32 defeat against McComb on the 15th. As for Patrick Henry, they have also already played their next match, a 54-27 victory against Hicksville on the 13th.
