Baseball Recap: Greenwood Christian Wins Going Away Against King Academy

Greenwood Christian won the last time they faced King Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Hawks were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Knights. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Kade Heaton and Brycen Moore did most of the damage at the plate: Heaton scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3, while Moore scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Moore has become a key player for Greenwood Christian: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeb Booth, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Greenwood Christian hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as King Academy struck out ten times.

Greenwood Christian now has a winning record of 8-7. As for King Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Coming up, Greenwood Christian will venture away from home to face off against Spartanburg Day at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Griffins have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for King Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ridge Spring-Monetta at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
