Volleyball Recap: Grantsville Comes Up Short

If Grantsville was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Ben Lomond last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Grantsville came up short against the Wasatch Wasps on Thursday, falling 3-0.

While Grantsville was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Wasatch's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-12, 25-22.

Joe Bailey paced Grantsville's offense, picking up seven kills. Bailey got some help from Isaac Nordgren and his 11 assists. Finally, Corbin Hislop kept Grantsville's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Grantsville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Wasatch, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Grantsville and Utah Military Academy - Hill Field will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on April 8. As for Wasatch, they will square off against Maple Mountain at 6:30 p.m. on April 8.
