Softball Recap: Kennett Comes Up Short

Kennett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oxford Hornets. The Blue Demons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hornets earlier this season, when they won 13-12.

Daiylia Winter was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Molly Evans, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Kennett's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Oxford, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-11.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Kennett will take on rival Downingtown West at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Oxford is set to square off against their familiar foe Coatesville at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
