Basketball Game Preview: Carlisle Chiefs vs. Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks

Carlisle is 2-8 against Miller School of Albemarle since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Carlisle Chiefs will challenge the Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Carlisle took a loss when they played away from home last Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 61-50 win over Virginia Episcopal School.

Meanwhile, Miller School of Albemarle narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past St. Catherine's 40-37. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mavericks.

Carlisle has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.9 points per game. As for Miller School of Albemarle, their win bumped their record up to 16-7.

Carlisle was able to grind out a solid victory over Miller School of Albemarle in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 56-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carlisle since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
