Basketball Game Preview: Live Oak Eagles vs. Walker Wildcats

Live Oak hasn't had much luck against Walker recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Live Oak Eagles will take on the Walker Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Live Oak is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 69-44 to Central. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Wildcats are ranked 21st).

Meanwhile, Walker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-51 heartbreaker at the hands of University Lab. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cubs 20-10 in the first quarter.

Live Oak's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Walker, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-17.

Live Oak couldn't quite finish off Walker when the teams last played back in December of 2024 and fell 62-59. Can Live Oak avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
