Basketball Recap: Lytle Takes a Loss

Lytle played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Harlandale Indians, falling 72-52. The Pirates have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Lytle saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Seth Pierce went 6 for 10 on his way to 17 points and six rebounds. The contest was Pierce's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Guevara, who posted ten points and three steals.

Lytle's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-6. As for Harlandale, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-6.

Lytle didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-44 loss against Boerne on the 28th. As for Harlandale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 72-64 win against Sinton on the 27th.
