Hamilton was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to second in I Section II. Earlier in the week, the Huskies defeated Dobson 56-0.
Hamilton extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Mustangs, 56-0. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Chandler's dynamic duo of Darell Garretson and Dionte Sykes proved tough for Corona del Sol to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Garretson threw for 402 yards and one touchdown and Sykes had 145 yards receiving. Cooper Burton helped Chandler's passing attack out by catching four balls for 128 yards.
Tarek Morrison was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 12 carries, he ran for 202 yards as Desert Ridge beat the Aztecs. Teammate Danny Siaumau added to the ground attack by rushing for 76 yards.
Nathaniel Rodriquez made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Jaguars bested Mesa. The 5-foot-10 strong safety recorded one fumble.
6-foot-0 quarterback Garretson of Chandler is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2321. He has also thrown 20 touchdowns. On the ground, Buena's Dominique Drake has rushed for 1346 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Nate Phillips. The Basha star has 52 catches for 850 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between the Huskies and Basha. Hamilton enters the game ranked third in the state, while the Bears ranks 12th.
Entering into this week's contest against the Huskies, Zach Werlinger is short just 23 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season. So far this year, Werlinger has thrown for 1977 yards with 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
Hamilton took down Dobson 56-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
