Volleyball Recap: Donovan Catholic Falls to Lakewood in First Game of Season

Donovan Catholic had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 2-0 to the Lakewood Piners. The Griffins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Piners apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Lakewood's victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Donovan Catholic will face off against rival Pinelands Regional at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Lakewood is set to take on their familiar foe Barnegat at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
