Volleyball Game Preview: Toronto Red Knights vs. Conotton Valley Rockets

The Toronto Red Knights will square off against the Conotton Valley Rockets at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Conotton Valley took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Toronto, who comes in off a win.

Toronto saw some tournament action on Monday. They put the hurt on Catholic Central with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Red Knights in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Conotton Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Garaway on Saturday and fell 2-1. The loss continues a trend for the Rockets in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost four in a row.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Conotton Valley sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 23-25, 25-22.

Toronto will have to keep a close watch on Whitney Watkins and Ava Williams, a pair of players who had a big impact on Conotton Valley's prior game. Watkins had 15 digs and two assists, while Williams hit 52% for 13 kills and 15 digs, two aces, and one block. Williams has been hot for a while, having posted six or more kills the last 24 times she's played.

Conotton Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 17-5. As for Toronto, their win bumped their record up to 10-13.

Toronto might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Conotton Valley in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Red Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
