Softball Recap: Ezell-Harding Christian Comes Up Short

Ezell-Harding Christian had lost five straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 4-15 to make it six. They lost 15-0 to the Donelson Christian Academy Wildcats. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Donelson Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by seven runs or more this season.

For Donelson Christian Academy's part, Chloe Carawan was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Carawan has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Donelson Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Heather Scales, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI Scales has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Anaya Dawson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Ezell-Harding Christian is set to face off against their familiar foe Davidson Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Donelson Christian Academy will square off against rival Goodpasture Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
