Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hubbertville). They were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Brilliant Tigers on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lions needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Nevaeh Hoobler made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. Hoobler was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Karlee Pollard and Cadee Beth Hollingsworth did most of the damage at the plate: Pollard scored three runs while going 2-for-4, while Hollingsworth scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave Pollard a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lara Beth Brasher, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
