Basketball Game Preview: Alameda Hornets vs. Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles

The Alameda Hornets will hit the road for the first time this season to take on the Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Alameda knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matchups -- so hopefully Clayton Valley Charter likes a good challenge.

Alameda is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They took down Arcata 73-54.

Meanwhile, Clayton Valley Charter had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They strolled past the Cougars with points to spare, taking the game 45-27. That's two games straight that the Ugly Eagles have won by exactly 18 points.

Alameda has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points over those games. As for Clayton Valley Charter, they pushed their record up to 19-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Alameda couldn't quite finish off Clayton Valley Charter when the teams last played back in December of 2014 and fell 57-55. Can Alameda avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
