Softball Recap: Fontana Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

Fontana hadn't beaten Arroyo Valley on the road since March 16, 2015 but that history sure didn't bother them on Monday. The Steelers walked away with a 9-4 win over the Hawks. That's more bragging rights for the Steelers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Laura Guera was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Metzy Marquez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Fontana has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Arroyo Valley, they dropped their record down to 4-8-2 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Fontana wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 13-3 victory against Rim of the World on the 23rd. As for Arroyo Valley, they have also already played their next game, an 11-2 win against Notre Dame on the 23rd.
