Mallard Creek extended their winning streak to six on Wednesday, bumping them up to 6-0. They strolled past the McDowell Titans with points to spare, taking the game 58-43. Mallard Creek's win was all the more impressive since the Titans were averaging only 29 points allowed on the season.

Mallard Creek had a senior duo take command as Kiara Anderson went 8-for-16 to rack up 21 points in addition to seven steals and five assists and My'Asia Young shot 42% from the field en route to 16 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Young has scored all season. Camri Hobbs was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Mallard Creek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in eight consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Having lost for the first time this season, McDowell fell to 4-1. The matchup marked their lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Several Titans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Khloe Joyner, who posted 15 points. The contest was Joyner's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa Honeycutt, who had 13 points.

Coming up, Mallard Creek will square off against Hickory Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McDowell, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 72-60 victory against North Buncombe on the 5th.
