Northtown hadn't done well against Cristo Rey Jesuit recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Pumas came out on top against the Cristeros by a score of 2-0. While the Pumas didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Northtown not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Cristo Rey Jesuit between 17 and 19 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-17.

Ernesto Depa paced Northtown's offense, picking up five kills. Depa got some help from Justin Pardo and his five assists. Pardo was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

The win made it two in a row for Northtown and bumps their season record up to 7-1. As for Cristo Rey Jesuit, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-4-1.
