Basketball Recap: Jayden Sawyer's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Columbia over Eastern Christian Homeschool

Columbia lost against Eastern Christian HomeSchool back in November, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Columbia Wildcats came up short against the Eastern Christian HomeSchool Trailblazers, falling 57-35. The game marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Columbia lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jayden Sawyer, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. That was a full 37.1% of Columbia's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Maurcus Holloway, who had five points and ten boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Columbia and nudges their season record down to 1-6. As for Eastern Christian HomeSchool, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Columbia Wildcats take on the New Life Academy Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Eastern Christian HomeSchool, they will host Washington Montessori at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
