Football Recap: Williamsville North Starts off Right with Win over St. Francis

Williamsville North gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. Their defense stepped up to hand the St. Francis Red Raiders a 2-0 shutout. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Spartans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 204th, while the Red Raiders are ranked 11th).

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williamsville North is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Jamestown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Francis, they will head out to square off against Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
