Softball Preview: Dana Hills Dolphins vs. Mission Viejo Diablos
Dana Hills hasn't had much luck against Mission Viejo recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Dolphins will be playing in front of their home fans against the Diablos at 4:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Having struggled with six losses in a row, Dana Hills turned things around against Aliso Niguel on Friday. They never let the Wolverines get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Dolphins have posted since March 31st.
Not much got past Melissa Reed, who gave up just three hits to keep Aliso Niguel off the board. Reed has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.
Meanwhile, Mission Viejo won against Tesoro on Thursday with three runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Diablos beat the Titans by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Diablos.
The win got Mission Viejo back to even at 13-13. As for Dana Hills, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 10-13.
