Soccer Recap: Desert Comes Up Short

The Desert Scorpions didn't have quite enough to beat the Mojave Mustangs on Thursday and fell 2-1.

Desert's goal came courtesy of Westley Brewster, which was the first he's scored this season.

Desert's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Mojave, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Looking ahead, Desert will challenge California City at 5:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026. As for Mojave, after both having extra time off, they and Kern Valley will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026. Mojave will be up against Kern Valley's rather soft defense (which has allowed 7.25 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
