Oceanside has gone 9-1 against Vista recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Pirates will look to defend their home field against the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Oceanside has given up an average of 7.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Oceanside is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They won by a run and slipped past Canyon Crest Academy 12-11. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Pirates as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Oceanside got a massive performance out of Anaiah Filo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Seaven Fuimaono, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Oceanside kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.2.

Meanwhile, Vista lost 10-2 to San Dieguito Academy on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost seven in a row.

Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Oceanside, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.

Oceanside took their victory against Vista when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 16-2 score. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
