Football Recap: West Essex Extends Winning Streak to Four

West Essex entered their tilt with Passaic Valley on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Their defense stepped up to hand the Hornets a 14-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

West Essex's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Passaic Valley, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2.

West Essex will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hanover Park at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Passaic Valley, they will square off against Wayne Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets will need to watch out since the Patriots have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
