Baseball Recap: Blind Brook Trojans vs. Westlake Wildcats

Blind Brook had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 3-8 to make it four. They came up short against the Westlake Wildcats, falling 18-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 on April 11th.

Blind Brook saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Pastor, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

As for Westlake, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-3. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 7.3 runs per game.

On Westlake's side, Gianluca Persampieri tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Westlake let Keith Haecker and Marcus Jackette run wild. Haecker went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs, while Jackette got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. As for Westlake, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Walter Panas at 4:30 p.m. The Panthers will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
