Baseball Game Preview: Moon Valley Rockets vs. Paradise Honors Panthers

The Moon Valley Rockets will face off against the Paradise Honors Panthers at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Moon Valley is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

Moon Valley came up short against Thunderbird on Thursday, falling 8-1.

Moon Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Crystian Norstrom, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Paradise Honors got the win against Dawson School on Friday by a conclusive 8-1. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Colt Bolich looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

At the plate, Joshua Tourek and Tucker Klingshei did most of the damage at the plate: Tourek scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2, while Klingshei scored a run while going 3-for-3. What's more, Klingshei posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jack Moore, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Moon Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Paradise Honors, their win bumped their record up to 13-2.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Moon Valley has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Paradise Honors struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Moon Valley might still be hurting after the 15-3 defeat they got from Paradise Honors when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Moon Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
