Football Game Preview: Deerfield Warriors vs. New Trier Trevians

For the first time this season, Deerfield will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They are taking a road trip to take on the New Trier Trevians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Deerfield is looking for their season's first victory.

Last Friday, Deerfield came up short against Elk Grove and fell 24-17.

Meanwhile, New Trier lost to Fremd at home by a 35-16 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Trevians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Vikings are ranked 31st).

New Trier's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Deerfield, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Deerfield was able to grind out a solid win over New Trier when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 21-10. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
