Softball Recap: South Salem Comes Up Short

South Salem extended their losing streak to nine on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 3-23 in the process. They came up short against the Mountain View Cougars, falling 18-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

As for Mountain View, the victory got them back to even at 13-13. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by nine runs or more this season.

For Mountain View's part, the team relied heavily on Stella Rhodes, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Those four hits gave Rhodes a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Marley Russell, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

As of now, neither South Salem nor Mountain View have any future games scheduled.
