Preview: Kimberly Bulldogs vs. Gooding Senators
The Kimberly Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Gooding Senators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Kimberly's favor as the team sits on nine straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Gooding has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Kimberly strolled past Buhl with points to spare, taking the game 36-19.
Meanwhile, Gooding came up short against Wood River on Friday and fell 20-13.
Despite the defeat, Gooding had strong showings from Butch Morris, who picked up 124 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Porter Whiting, who rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Whiting was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 69 yards.
Even if they lost, Gooding's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Leading the way was Morris and his two sacks.
Kimberly's win lifted them to 8-0 while Gooding's defeat dropped them down to 2-6.
Everything went Kimberly's way against Gooding in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as Kimberly made off with a 36-14 win. Will Kimberly repeat their success, or does Gooding have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
