Basketball Recap: Randle Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Randle can now relate to. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 45-44 to the Pflugerville Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 513th, while the Panthers are ranked 252nd).

Randle's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alaysia Cook, who posted 11 points in addition to eight boards and seven assists. Cook has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 18 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kurynn McNeill, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 14 points and four steals.

Randle's loss dropped their record down to 19-13. As for Pflugerville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-15.

Randle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pflugerville, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-26 defeat against Barbers Hill on the 17th.
