Softball Recap: Franklin Extends Home Winning Streak to 11

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Franklin ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Lexington Eagles 4-3. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Eagles last Tuesday, they had to take a 14-5 defeat.

Franklin's victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-3-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lexington, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin will challenge Bullard at 6:00 p.m. on the 12th. As for Lexington, they will take on Thrall at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
