Basketball Recap: Southland Takes a Loss

Southland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The contest between them and the Petersburg Buffaloes didn't end well, with the Southland Eagles falling 52-38. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buffaloes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-43 back in January.

Petersburg's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucas Rendon, who posted 20 points. With that strong performance, Rendon is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Another player making a difference was Nathan Mulkey, who had 12 points.

Southland's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Petersburg, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-15.

Southland has already played their next match (against Crosbyton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Petersburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
