Basketball Game Preview: Mayer Lutheran Crusaders vs. United Christian Academy Eagles

The Mayer Lutheran Crusaders are taking a road trip to take on the United Christian Academy Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Mayer Lutheran's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games.

Last Friday, Mayer Lutheran didn't have too much trouble with Minneota as they won 61-46. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Vikings are ranked 132nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, United Christian Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Everything went their way against the Eagles as they made off with a 58-32 victory. United Christian Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 22 points or more this season.

United Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Mayer Lutheran, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Mayer Lutheran was dealt a bruising 66-38 loss at the hands of United Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Mayer Lutheran avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
