Volleyball Recap: St. Joseph Cadets vs. New Canaan Rams
St. Joseph lost against New Canaan back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Cadets took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 4, 2021, but that streak is no more.
The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: New Canaan scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-27, 25-19, 25-19.

St. Joseph lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Mary DeCaro, who had 26 digs and two aces. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played. Lilly Kugit was another key player, getting 28 assists and six digs.
New Canaan can attribute much of their success to Mia Lockyer, who had 22 digs and six aces. That's the most aces Lockyer has posted since back in September.
St. Joseph now has a losing record of 8-9. As for New Canaan, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.
