Basketball Game Preview: Grovetown Warriors vs. Grayson Rams

The Grovetown Warriors will face off against the Grayson Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Grovetown turned things around against South Gwinnett on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Comets, sneaking past 63-60. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since December 10, 2024.

Grovetown got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ahmari Jackson out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Jackson a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ian Leverette, who went 5 of 7 en route to 12 points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Grayson and Holy Innocents Episcopal (ranked 12th and 67th in the MaxPreps national rankings respectively) squared off in a high-profile game on Saturday. Grayson skirted past Holy Innocents Episcopal 68-66. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Grovetown now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Grayson, they pushed their record up to 19-2 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.

Grovetown ended up a good deal behind Grayson when the teams last played back in December of 2024, losing 70-53. Can Grovetown avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
