Baseball Recap: Winfield-Mt. Union Takes a Loss

In Thursday's Canine Competition, Winfield-Mt. Union had to take the L. They fell just short of the Highland Huskies by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-2 on June 6th.

Winfield-Mt. Union has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Highland, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5.

Winfield-Mt. Union has already played their next contest, an 11-0 loss against Notre Dame on the 27th. As for Highland, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-4 win against Louisa-Muscatine on the 27th.
