Softball Recap: Jserra Catholic's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

JSerra Catholic got themselves on the board against Huntington Beach on Wednesday, but Huntington Beach never followed suit. They walked away with a 3-0 win over the Oilers. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Not much got past Liliana Escobar, who gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Huntington Beach off the board. Escobar has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, JSerra Catholic saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allie Haupt, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Melia Munoz was another, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

JSerra Catholic now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Huntington Beach, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. JSerra Catholic will take on Orange Lutheran at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Huntington Beach, they will square off against St. Paul at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
