Basketball Game Preview: Harding University Rams vs. Huss Huskies + How To Watch

The Harding University Rams are taking a road trip to face off against the Huss Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Harding University managed to keep up with West Charlotte until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Rams came up short against the Lions, falling 77-57. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Huss had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They walked away with a 69-58 victory over the Pumas. The 69-point effort marked the Huskies' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Harding University better keep an eye on Jaleel Smith. He was instrumental in Huss' win, almost dropping a double-double with 32 points and nine boards. Smith's big performance that evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaiyir 'Zii' Phillips, who shot 54% from the field on his way to 20 points along with five assists and three steals.

Harding University's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Huss, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Harding University didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Huss in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, but they still walked away with a 56-52 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
