Baseball Game Preview: Early Longhorns vs. Tolar Rattlers

For the second straight game, Early will face off against Tolar. The Longhorns will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rattlers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Early has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Tuesday, Early didn't have quite enough to beat Tolar and fell 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Longhorns have lost by just one run.

For Tolar's part, Rowdy Tryon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. The Rattlers are 3-1 when Tryon allows two or fewer earned runs, but 2-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Tolar's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Talan Culberson, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Early has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Tolar, they moved to 5-11 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
