Timberlake won the last time they faced Lakeland and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Timberlake Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the Lakeland Hawks. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by just one run.
Ethan Pecor was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Dane Perkl, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
The win made it two in a row for Timberlake and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Lakeland, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Timberlake will head out to face off against Potlatch at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Timberlake has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Lakeland, they are taking a road trip to challenge Lewiston at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
