Volleyball Recap: Duchesne Takes a Loss

Duchesne suffered their biggest defeat since April 2nd on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the St. Dominic Crusaders. The loss continues a trend for the Pioneers in their meetings with the Crusaders: they've now lost seven in a row.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-12, 25-12.

Will Johannesman paced Duchesne's offense, picking up four kills. Johannesman got some help from Zach Hubert and his four assists.

Leading St. Dominic to victory were James Campbell and Ryan Leipholtz. Campbell had ten digs and three assists, while Leipholtz had seven digs. That's the most assists Campbell has posted over his last ten matchups.

Duchesne's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9-1. As for St. Dominic, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Duchesne has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Edwardsville on the 11th. St. Dominic has also already played their next matchup (against Maryville Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
